Typically one year of clinical nursing experience is expected, with BSN preferred. The position emphasizes evidence-based care, patient-family engagement, and adherence to safety standards within a dynamic maternity unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications may be required by specialty.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where care is provided.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit governance, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety and maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies safely according to clinical protocols.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area as needed.
