Job summary

University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a compassionate RN to join the Maternal Newborn nursing team at the Children’s Hospital in Columbia, MO. This full-time night shift (7:00 p.m.

– 7:30 a.m.) involves a 3-shift week, every other weekend, and rotating holidays, with on-site work and a focus on mothers, newborns, and families. Base pay ranges from $34.46 to $51.02 per hour, plus weekend and night shift differentials, with benefits including day-one health coverage, paid time off,

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
• One (1) year of RN experience.
• Preferred: Additional license/certification as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative patient needs, including discharge planning.
• Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient's self-report and symptoms of pain promptly. Utilizes an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment (0-10 numerical scale, FACES, or the FLACC).
• Demonstrates an understanding of medications regarding action and side effects. Reports pertinent information to the appropriate individual.
• Educates patients and significant others about their medications.
• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.
• Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit.
