Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer in Fayetteville, NC. The role requires competency in diagnostic ultrasound across obstetric, vascular, and fetal anatomy exams, with strong communication for reporting findings to the Perinatologist and health care team.

The candidate must hold ARDMS RDMS and Level II credentials in two areas, plus an AMA-approved sonography program and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required for communication with patients and team.
• Graduate of AMA approved Sonography program.
• ARDMS RDMS certification required; Level II in two areas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate all ultrasound equipment with technical competence.
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams (abdominal, OB-GYN, vascular, infant head/hip/spine).
• Record, adapt procedures based on anatomy and pathology.
• Differentiate normal vs pathologic findings using sonographic data.
• Communicate findings to Perinatologist and care team.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during exams.
• Support daily operations of the ultrasound department.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; perform other duties as assigned.
