Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for the CFV Vascular Surgery team. This full-time day position performs diagnostic vascular ultrasound and participates in QA, patient care, and teaching activities.

The role requires AMA-approved training, ARRT/ARDMS registry eligibility, and CPR certification, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and teamwork within a busy vascular surgery setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of AMA approved Sonography program required.
• ARRT (Sonography) or ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer preferred.
• New graduates who are registry eligible must be registered within 12 months of hire date.
• Current AHA CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Competent in the technical operations of all equipment in this section.
• Assess patients, review orders/chart, confirm reason for exam.
• Document pertinent patient symptoms and clinical history; obtain signed consent if needed.
• Prepare patients for procedures and communicate with supervising radiologist regarding exam protocol.
• Record exam start and end times in RIS for timely radiology access.
• Maintain infection control guidelines and patient safety standards.
• Perform QA of exams: correct order, accurate image annotation, and correct laterality.
• Participate in clinical education of student sonographers and in department PI projects.
