Job summary

Catholic Health's Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo is seeking a Maternal Child Float Pool RN to provide direct patient care across L&D, NICU, and other maternal child units. The float pool requires flexibility to cover units as volume and acuity fluctuate, coordinating total patient care with teaching and family involvement.

The role demands a NYS nursing license, BSN preferred, BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications, and 2–3 years in Maternal Child.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Nursing License required.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP certification or eligibility within six months of hire.
• ACLS certification or eligibility within six months of hire.
• Maintains NRP and BLS; EFM applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in Maternal Child units (L&D, NICU) and support float pool coverage.
• Float to Maternal Child units as needed based on volume and acuity.
• Coordinate patient care using the Nursing Process and provide patient/family teaching.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals and direct/assist non-licensed personnel.
• Maintain competency based on previous unit experience.
