Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Intern Level I in Memphis, TN. The role supports field and laboratory testing tasks, assists with data collection, documentation, and testing activities under supervision, and helps develop foundational technical skills.

The intern will gain exposure to soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials, while learning project workflows and ECS core values. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience.
• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Certifications must be completed within 270 days, including Radiation Safety, Soils I, and Concrete I.
• Must have valid driver’s license if driving for ECS.
• Strong communication, dependable and organized work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist in field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Document site conditions and test results in field reports.
• Assist with equipment prep and organization for field/lab work.
• Perform basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction.
• Communicate with field staff, contractors and project team members.
• Attend project meetings with senior staff as required.
