Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Intern Level I to observe and begin routine field and laboratory testing tasks, assisting with data collection and documentation under supervision. You will learn construction practices, materials testing methods, and project workflows while supporting testing activities.

The role emphasizes foundational technical skills, professional development, and collaboration with field staff and project teams within ECS’s

Qualifications

Must be pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
One certification must be completed within 90 days, and all basic certifications within 270 days: Radiation Safety, Soils I, Concrete I.
Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Willingness to work in outdoor environments and field conditions.

Responsibilities

Assist with construction materials observation and testing in field and lab.
Observe and participate in testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
Document site conditions and testing results in field reports.
Prepare and organize field and laboratory equipment.
Perform basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction tasks.
Communicate with field staff, contractors, and project team members.
Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested.
