Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation in Perrysburg, OH, is seeking a Materials Technician (Resin Processing) to manage end-to-end material flow from procurement to production line delivery. This role drives operational excellence using Lean/WCM, and serves as the technical expert for inventory control, audits, and material movement logistics.

Responsibilities include optimizing inventory levels, coordinating material transfers, and supporting maintenance of material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 3 years in materials management or logistics.
• Expert-level proficiency in inventory software (SAP, Fishbowl, NetSuite) and ERP systems.
• Experience with automated systems (robotics, PLC) is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret complex part prints, mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Strong math skills for material calculations and auditing inventory counts.
• Basic leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Materials flow and logistics: move equipment, parts and assemblies according to production priorities.
• Maintain inventory records and track WIP in ERP/MRP; ensure location accuracy.
• Validate SAP cycle counts and investigate discrepancies or excess inventory.
• Monitor production schedules and requisition materials to avoid shortages.
• Lead Lean/WCM activities and 5S; coach team on problem solving.
• Provide technical support for material handling equipment and systems.
