This position is based in Lake Orion, Michigan, supporting General Motors operations within a high-volume warehouse environment focused on pick and pack, sequencing, inventory management, and material flow. We are seeking a hands-on Materials Supervisor to lead daily inventory and material movement activities while ensuring customer production requirements are met safely, efficiently, and accurately.
Shifts Available:
2nd shift: Monday - Friday / 2:00pm - 10:30pm
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily material handling, inventory control, and warehouse operations
- Ensure materials are available and delivered to support customer production schedules
- Lead a team of hourly associates responsible for receiving, storage, sequencing, picking, packing, and material movement
- Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process compliance
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and material flow issues
- Coordinate inbound and outbound material movement to meet customer requirements
- Track operational KPIs related to inventory accuracy, productivity, quality, and safetyEnsure compliance with customer requirements, company policies, and safety standards
- Develop work schedules and support daily labor planning activities
- Provide employee coaching, training, performance management, and accountability
- Communicate operational updates, concerns, and production impacts to management
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, inventory accuracy, and customer service
- Maintain accurate reporting and inventory documentation
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Customer teams to support overall facility performance
Qualifications
- 2+ years of leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, materials management, manufacturing, or supply chain operations
- Previous experience overseeing inventory, material flow, or warehouse operations
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, sequencing, and material handling processes
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing or automotive operations preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining customer service expectations
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on safety, quality, and operational performance
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
