Job summary

This position is based in the Detroit, MI area, supporting General Motors operations within a high-volume warehouse environment focused on pick and pack, sequencing, inventory management, and material flow. We are seeking a hands-on Floor Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and customer expectations are consistently met.

Position Overview

The Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse activities, leading hourly employees, and ensuring operational goals are achieved. This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and plays an important role in employee development, operational execution, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily warehouse operations, including pick and pack, sequencing, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material flow activities
• Lead, coach, and develop hourly employees while driving accountability and performance
• Monitor productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, and safety performance across the operation
• Ensure materials and customer orders are processed accurately and delivered on time
• Provide daily direction and support to warehouse associates while maintaining a positive work environment
• Support employee training, onboarding, and performance management initiatives

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, material flow, and productivity standards
• Experience supporting automotive or high-volume manufacturing operations preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and employee development skills
• Ability to coach employees, solve problems, and drive accountability
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
