Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions is seeking a Materials Specialist in Alexandria, MN. The role ensures materials and components are received, stored, documented, and distributed to support production and assembly.

You will handle forklift duties, verify shipments, and maintain accurate records while contributing to efficient manufacturing operations. Weekly pay and temp-to-hire options are available where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Licensed forklift driver is required or preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and distribute fabricated and purchased components to the production floor or job carts.
• Assign conformance to purchased components and issue materials to machines as requested by assembly personnel.
• Receive, store, and identify customer products and corrugated materials.
• Load and unload trucks while following forklift safety guidelines.
• Process job returns, shipments, and internal customer service requests.
• Load and ship machines and restock parts carts.
• Update routers, verify shortage sheets before assembly starts, and follow written processes while seeking cost-effective solutions.
