Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking Materials & Processes Engineer Interns in Huntsville, AL. You will work with design, manufacturing and quality to optimize materials and processes, supporting parameter development, material selection, drawing reviews, and qualification campaigns on the production floor.

During the internship, you will gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship and feedback, and participate in events to learn about other parts of the organization.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester/quarter remaining after the internship.
• Completed at least one year of full-time coursework after high school (sophomore standing).
• Available to work full time for a minimum of 15 weeks while not enrolled in coursework.
• Interest in Blue Origin's mission.
• Experience in materials engineering or materials science.
• Experience with chemical engineering.
• Experience with thermal protection systems ( TPS ).
• Familiarity with composite materials.
• Lab experience.
• Experience in a production facility.

Responsibilities

• Support activities such as parameter development, material/process selection, and drawing reviews.
• Manage qualification test campaigns and interact/audit external vendors.
• Provide ongoing support to existing configurations on the production floor.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing and quality to optimize materials and processes.
