Job summary

U.S. Ordnance in Reno, NV is seeking a Production Planner to schedule and manage machining production, monitor inventories, and coordinate with departments across the facility.

This role requires ERP/MRP software proficiency (Epicor preferred), strong mathematical ability, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. A high school diploma and 0–8 years of related experience are expected; overtime may be required as needed in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in ERP/MRP software required, Epicor knowledge preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of Jobs and Travelers
• Strong attention to detail with proven capabilities in handling multiple priorities
• Computer literate and able to quickly learn required software
• Advanced math skills are needed
• Ability to work with limited supervision and in a team environment
• High School Diploma
• Requires 0-2 years’ experience in the field or in a related area
• Ability to work overtime as necessary

Responsibilities

• Reviews product specifications in relation to the Master Production Schedule to determine material needs
• Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of machined products; establishes sequence and lead times
• Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations
• Identifies bottlenecks and communicates with department supervisors to ensure timely completion
• Expedites operations that delay schedules and adjusts schedules as needed
• Creates Work Orders for Manufacturing and Assembly Departments and outside services
• Assists with expediting product to different departments
