Job summary

DSV is seeking a Material Planner at our USA location in Bridgeport. The role coordinates between demand planning, fulfillment, and supplier teams to ensure on-time material availability, manage PO lead times, and expedite where necessary.

Responsibilities include monitoring lead times, addressing delays, and ensuring the recommit process is followed. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 2–4 years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all commitments from demand planning groups meet the agreed lead times.
• Resolve delays in providing the needed material within the agreed timeline.
• Manage lead times of all POs placed for the customer and report on lead times.
• Expedite POs as needed.
• Ensure the recommit process is followed as needed.
• Review the backlog and coordinate with the supplier, review recommits and any rejected expedited requests.
• Review supplier build/ship plans to ensure commitments meet PO dates.
• Identify and report potential on-time shipment issues (OTS).
• Manually schedule orders outside lead time and identify root causes.
• Monitor PO lead times and report attainment, addressing issues to prevent delays.
