Shield AI seeks a Receiving & Incoming Inspection Lead to oversee daily material receiving and inspection, lead a team, and ensure materials meet requirements before release to inventory or production.

The role partners with Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Inventory Control to resolve discrepancies and prevent nonconforming material from reaching production. Strong leadership and data accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in receiving, incoming inspection, inventory control, or manufacturing quality.
• Prior supervisory experience of hourly or technical personnel.
• Ability to interpret purchase orders, engineering drawings, specs, and inspection instructions.
• Experience using ERP systems for receiving and inventory transactions.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise receiving associates and incoming inspectors, assignments, scheduling, and evaluations.
• Establish safety, quality, productivity, accuracy expectations.
• Balance staffing to support production priorities.
• Develop cross-training plans and maintain records.
• Address performance issues and support hiring and development.
• Oversee receipt, identification, counting, and verification of materials.
• Ensure ERP transactions with accurate part numbers, revisions, and lot/serial info.
• Coordinate movement of material to inventory, kitting, or production.
• Execute incoming inspections per plans, drawings, specs, and PO requirements.
• Review supplier documentation and ensure conformity and traceability.
• Verify inspection methods and calibrated equipment.
• Identify and quarantine nonconforming material pending disposition.
• Partner with Supplier Quality and Engineering on inspection issues.
• Release material only after acceptance criteria are met.
• Lead daily reviews of receiving queues, aging material, shortages, and critical receipts.
• Escalate quality concerns with clear ownership and dates.
• Improve receiving-to-stock cycle time without compromising traceability.
• Standardize work instructions and transaction practices.
• Support supplier corrective actions with defect records.
• Maintain an organized, safe, audit-ready work area.
