Job summary

Bhamfast is seeking a Receiving Lead to coordinate daily inbound material operations in a steel manufacturing environment. The role ensures accurate receiving, staging, and inventory updates while supporting production needs with the right material at the right time.

The candidate will operate or coordinate cranes and forklifts, perform inspections, and communicate issues across Purchasing, Quality, Production, and Shipping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar receiving/warehousing role preferred.
• Bilingual skills are a plus (not required).
• Ability to operate or coordinate heavy material-handling equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily receiving activities with priorities and workload coordination.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Receive raw material and allocate to locations.
• Verify incoming material against purchase orders and documentation; flag discrepancies.
• Stage material for production using work orders.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and report variances.
• Complete receiving transactions with location, lot/heat, and notes.
• Perform safety checks on equipment.
• Maintain organized receiving areas for safe traffic flow.
• Ensure safe material handling with cranes and forklifts; report hazards.
• Perform quality checks and document inspections.
• Coordinate with Quality/Purchasing/Shipping on nonconforming material.
• Clean and maintain supplies and storage areas.
