Job summary

Goodwill of Southern New England is seeking a warehouse associate to move materials, load and unload trucks, and prepare shipments at our Providence, RI location. The role requires operating a tow motor, following work orders, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

You will pre-sort donated goods for shipping, assist with shipping documentation, and support other duties as needed. The position may involve weekend/evening/holiday hours and physical demands typical for warehouse work.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED is not required; up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and comprehend work orders, shipping orders, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Responsibilities

• Follow verbal instructions or read work orders to determine materials and containers to be moved.
• Load materials into and from vehicles, install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, assisting truck driver.
• Convey materials to and/or from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand truck, tow motor or pallet jack.
• Occasionally count, weigh and/or record number of units of material moved or handled.
