Job summary

Medical Devices Company in Franklin Lakes, NJ is seeking a mid-level Materials Mechanical Engineering Technician for a 12-month contract on a 40-hour work week. You will perform batch mixing, extrusion, data interpretation, and support test plans; manage lab inventory and calibration; and participate in continuous improvement in a compliant R&D lab.

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with at least two years of laboratory experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with at least 2 years of lab experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical measurement equipment (e.g. Instron) and multiple materials characterization techniques.
• Experience with polymer compounding and processing (extrusion, molding) preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with ISO, FDA, OSHA, ASTM regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform batch mixing, compounding and extrusion of materials.
• Interpret data, identify trends and provide solutions.
• Support test plan improvements and problem-solving.
• Oversee lab supplies, purchasing and inventory management.
• Maintain chemical inventory and MSDS records; remove expired chemicals.
