Job summary

Medical Device Company seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of product design and development experience for a 12+ month contract in Franklin Lakes, NJ. This W2, 40-hour workweek role is on first shift, paying $20–$25 per hour.

You will collaborate cross-functionally to capture user needs, develop robust design solutions, and support design transfer to manufacturing. Familiarity with design controls, FMEA, and V&V is preferred; US citizens or green card holders only; no H1B.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Materials, or Biomedical Eng with emphasis on mechanical design.
• Min 5 years of product design and development experience.
• Experience with design controls and maintaining design documentation.
• Experience in requirements engineering, hazards analysis, FMEA, V&V.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional team to translate user needs into system requirements.
• Develop robust design solutions and support design transfer to manufacturing.
• Proactively manage technical risks and drive feasibility/testing.
• Lead or mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Drive cost models and project milestones.
