Job summary

Cotterman Company is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee materials planning, purchasing, and inventory control at our Croswell, MI facility. You will ensure the right materials are available at the right time to support production schedules.

As a full-time on-site role, you will analyze usage data, adjust safety stock levels, and drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with production, logistics, and finance teams to optimize material availability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Strong materials and inventory management capabilities.
• Experience with inventory control disciplines and maintaining stock records.
• Background in production planning to align material requirements with schedules.
• Demonstrated analytical skills for forecasting and usage trend analysis.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably metal fabrication.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and spreadsheets for planning and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production.
• Coordinate material flow between departments to optimize material availability.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate terms as needed.
• Align material availability with production schedules and costs.
• Analyze usage data and adjust safety stock levels.
