Job summary

Videojet Technologies, a Veralto company, is seeking a Materials Manager to lead buyers/planners in Wood Dale, IL, ensuring optimal inventory and uninterrupted production. The role focuses on replenishment, inventory turns, supplier performance, and end-to-end material flow with VMI oversight.

The position collaborates with production, quality, and engineering to mitigate supplier disruptions, manages POs, sets planning parameters, and drives continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or Business Administration.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Materials Management.
• 4+ years in a Materials Management leadership role.
• Knowledge of VES Tools (Kaizen, 5S, SQDP, PSP, others).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computer literate, MS applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of buyer/planners to ensure effective material planning and replenishment.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels to support customer demand while minimizing excess and ensuring no stockouts.
• Drive continuous improvement in inventory turns and overall working capital performance.
• Monitor and improve supplier on-time delivery and material availability to prevent production disruptions.
• Oversee end-to-end material flow, including ordering raw materials, goods in transit, finished goods, and VMI.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and manufacturing engineering to mitigate interruptions from suppliers.
• Manage all open purchase orders with suppliers and minimize overdue POs.
• Establish material planning parameters (safety stock, reorder points, lead times, kanban, min/max).
• Analyze demand forecast and align supply plans to meet current customer requirements and service levels.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risk, including shortages and delays.
• Implement best practices in inventory management, material planning, and ERP utilization.
• Lead continuous improvement kaizens focused on cost and inventory reduction and adding suppliers to VMI.
• Use VES tools to identify root causes of on-time delivery misses and inventory misses and drive countermeasures.
• Develop and mentor subordinates to build future leaders.
