Job summary

Veralto is seeking a Materials Manager in Wood Dale, Illinois. This role leads buyers/planners to ensure optimal material replenishment, maintains inventory levels to support customer demand, and drives improvements in inventory turns and supplier performance.

You will manage end-to-end material flow, collaborate with production and quality teams, and mentor future leaders while leveraging VES tools to reduce costs and mitigate supply risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Materials Management.
• Minimum 4 years in a Materials Management leadership role.
• Knowledge of VES Tools (Kaizen, 5S, SQDP, PSP, others).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of buyers/planners for material planning and replenishment.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet demand and avoid stockouts.
• Drive improvements in inventory turns and working capital performance.
• Monitor supplier on-time delivery and material availability to prevent disruptions.
• Oversee end-to-end material flow including raw materials, in-transit goods, finished goods, and VMI.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and manufacturing engineering to mitigate interruptions.
• Manage open purchase orders and minimize past-due items.
• Establish material planning parameters (safety stock, reorder points, lead times, kanban).
• Analyze demand forecasts and align supply plans to meet service targets.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (shortages, delays, supplier issues).
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost and inventory reduction.
