Job summary

Saltchuk Marine is seeking a Manager, Materials Management to lead warehouse operations, receiving, shipping, and inventory control across locations. The role focuses on building standardized processes, driving efficiency, and aligning with Procurement, Operations, and Finance to support vessel requirements.

The position reports to the Director of Strategic Procurement and is based in Tacoma, WA, with some travel within the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in warehouse operations, materials management, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
• Experience improving warehouse processes, inventory accuracy, and operational performance.
• Experience working with NetSuite or inventory management systems.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across multiple teams or locations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Company’s materials management strategy.
• Establish standardized warehouse, receiving, storage, and issuing processes across operating locations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on warehouse operations, inventory control, and materials management best practices.
• Foster strong working relationships across Operating Companies to support adoption of standardized processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, inspection, storage, organization, staging, and issuing of materials and supplies.
• Develop and report key performance indicators related to inventory accuracy, warehouse performance, and materials availability.
