Job summary

The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am–3:30pm, onsite in Madison.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, or an associate degree in logistics, business, or related field.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and accurate data entry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Forklift certification and driving history where applicable.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming materials accurately.
  • Operate site equipment including forklifts, electric jacks and cherry pickers.
  • Restock lab supplies and fulfill internal material requests.
  • Document receipts, storage, and shipment records.
  • Assist with shipping, packaging, and DOT/IATA regulatory compliance.
  • Support inventory transactions in SAP/EWM and related systems.
  • Adhere to GMP, SOPs, and safety requirements.
  • Escalate discrepancies per protocol.

Position Overview

The Materials Management Associate I supports basic materials handling, inventory control, shipping/receiving and restocking activities. This entry-level role works under close supervision and follows clearly defined procedures to ensure timely and accurate material flow in support of laboratory, production, and operational needs.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm

Pay: $21/hr. - 29.65/hr.

Location: Onsite in Madison, WI

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming materials in designated locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures.
  • Operate equipment essential to job duties, including forklifts, electric jacks, cherry pickers, and other machinery specific to the site.
  • Place goods in designated storage areas and restock lab supplies as needed.
  • Fulfill internal material requests and deliver materials to appropriate locations.
  • Support basic inventory transactions and data entry in SAP/EWM.
  • Assist with packaging and preparing outbound shipments, including compliance with DOT and IATA hazardous materials regulations.
  • Accurately document receipt, storage, and shipment records.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety requirements.
  • Escalate inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or other issues per escalation protocols.
  • Engage in cross-training and continuous skill development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED and 1+ years of relevant experience; or associate degree in logistics, business, or related field.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Drive company vehicles and comply with driving record monitoring requirements, where applicable
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in warehouse or material handling role.
  • Exposure to SAP, EWM, or other ERP systems.
  • Experience in GMP or biotech environment.

The base pay for this position is $14.85 – $29.65 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
