Job summary

IEM is seeking a Materials Supervisor for its San Antonio, TX site to oversee day-to-day materials operations, inventory accuracy, and supplier collaboration. The role reports to the VP of Supply Chain and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an in-office, non-remote position with a hands-on leadership approach aimed at ensuring material availability and production support across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, industrial engineering, or related discipline.
• 4+ years in materials management, inventory control, warehouse ops, logistics, or manufacturing.
• 2+ years supervising teams in warehouse, materials, inventory, or manufacturing.
• Experience with PFEP, Kanban, supermarket, pull, point-of-use systems.
• Experience participating in Kaizen events and structured problem solving.
• ERP/MRP experience; SAP/Oracle/Infor Syteline preferred.
• APICS CPIM/CSCP, Six Sigma, or Lean certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily materials management: supermarket ops, receiving, inventory control, replenishment, WIP flow.
• Ensure accuracy and flow of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; reinforce cycle counting.
• Implement standardized materials management processes aligned with production needs.
• Maintain PFEP data: part characteristics, demand, replenishment, storage, and locations.
• Design lean replenishment systems: Kanban, point-of-use, pull, milk runs.
• Coordinate with Purchasing/Supply Chain and Planning to support schedules; escalate shortages.
• Monitor KPIs: inventory accuracy, shortages, replenishment, warehouse productivity.
• Coach and develop materials/warehouse staff; enforce safety and policy compliance.
