Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Materials Supervisor to oversee the flow of materials for autonomous maritime vessels. You will manage procurement, inventory, and distribution to production schedules, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to keep operations on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in materials management or a related field, preferably in the defense, aerospace, or maritime industries.
• Strong knowledge of material procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
• Familiarity with DoD procurement procedures, regulations, and standards.
• Proficiency in materials management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Experience with materials testing, certifications, and military-grade standards.
• In-depth understanding of supply chain management in high-tech or defense settings.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with receiving teams and internal departments.
• Ability to lead and develop teams effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Material Management: Oversee procurement, storage, and distribution of materials for production of autonomous vessels.
• Receiving Coordination: Ensure timely inspection and acceptance of materials, negotiate pricing and lead times.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure materials meet industry standards and DoD requirements, conduct inspections.
• Inventory Control: Implement and maintain an efficient inventory control system with regular audits.
• Logistics Coordination: Manage logistics of incoming materials and delivery to production facilities.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records and generate reports on usage, orders, and stock levels.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor material handlers and staff.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all regulations and promote a safe working environment.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering, production, and other departments on material sourcing.
