Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Materials Technician to support our laboratory and quality control efforts on a 12-month contract. You will perform tests, organize materials for product testing, and help document results to inform R&D and process improvements.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing with equipment, strong observation, and clear communication within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work 8-4, Monday through Friday.
• Lift and carry at least 25 pounds and perform high repetitions with 5-pound weights.
• Stand for 2+ hours and bend multiple times throughout the day.
• Proficient hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical and mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
• Assist with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting test results.
• Prepare materials and organize for product testing.
• Conduct hands‑on tests with multiple pieces of equipment and evaluate new materials and products based on research.
• Test or visually observe product samples from competitors and communicate test results to the appropriate requester.
