Job summary

The City of El Paso seeks an organized Inventory Clerk to oversee stock levels, requisitions, and warehousing operations. You will track inventory, coordinate with mechanics and vendors, and ensure compliance with purchasing procedures.

Responsibilities include processing orders, maintaining stock records, and performing regular audits to safeguard assets. A CDL is sometimes required; the role may involve CDL-related testing and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and three years of experience in requisitioning, shipping, receiving, or storing materials.
• Some positions may require a Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
• Drug and alcohol testing may be required for CDL or safety-sensitive roles.
• Under supervision, maintain inventory, prepare requisitions, allocate parts and supplies, and manage warehouses and stockrooms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of property and stock; prepare, update and maintain stock records.
• Review inventory levels, confer with mechanics, and contact approved vendors for price and availability.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and orders; verify quantities and prices against invoices.
• Monitor costs, post items to accounts, and generate replenishment and maintenance reports.
• Inspect goods on delivery, identify damaged items, and manage returns or credits.
• Conduct periodic physical audits and ensure proper labeling and storage of stock.
• Provide leadwork when assigned, mentoring and guiding junior staff and coordinating work.
