County of El Paso is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk, Intermediate to perform clerical and warehouse duties, coordinating all commodities and equipment movement and storage. The role involves procurement tasks, expediting orders for diversified goods, and supporting audits and inventory control processes.
The position requires knowledge of English, office procedures, and the ability to operate Windows-based software and standard office equipment.
High School Diploma or equivalent, and three (3) years of procurement experience with two (2) years of inventory or a related field;
Orany equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must have or obtain by date of hire a valid driver's license applicable to job responsibilities, with a driving record acceptable to the County of El Paso.
In order to access the County’s network and systems, a personal mobile smart device is required by the hire start date.
Assists with procurement keeps records of the inventory for the Department of Infrastructure Services, so that items are accurately stocked and stored where they belong. Some of their daily responsibilities include:
Performs such other related duties as may be assigned;
Substitutes, if assigned during temporary absences by performing delegated duties sufficient to maintain continuity of normal operations;

As members of the County of El Paso Emergency Response System, all El Paso County employees are designated as Disaster Service Workers during a proclaimed emergency and may be required to train on emergency response and/or perform certain emergency services at the direction of their supervisor.
The Inventory Control Clerk, Intermediate under general supervision, moderately complex clerical and warehouse work coordinating all commodities and equipment movement and storage; performs procurement work placing and expediting orders for diversified goods; and performs related work as required.
Knowledge of: English usage, grammar, punctuation and spelling; techniques for effective interpersonal communications; modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment to include Windows and Microsoft based products; printing, copying, and postage equipment and related equipment; warehouse procedures and paper flow, bills of lading and invoicing; Skill/Ability to: use of material handling equipment; operate personal computer using standard Office operating software and general office equipment; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; make mathematical computations; prepare clear, concise and comprehensive written reports, and staff studies; perform arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy; ability to organize and expedite orders; operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently; work rapidly and accurately with numbers, codes, and symbols; and establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
