Base pay range

$29.00/yr - $34.69/yr

Duties
  1. Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections for a period extending beyond one month.
  2. Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and accommodate daily workload fluctuations, requiring higher approval for additional employees, overtime, etc.
  3. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures for the supervised work.
  4. Reviews work in progress or upon completion.
  5. Notes and investigates work-related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity, determines causes, and implements corrective actions within assigned authority.
  6. Supervises operations involving receiving, storing, picking, packing, and material handling equipment.
  7. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, coordinating with other supervisors as per established schedules, methods, and policies.

  • This announcement may be used to fill future vacancies for various shifts within DLA Distribution Susquehanna.
  • Must obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications per laws.
Qualifications

Applicants will be rated based on the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Experience and training demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills are essential. Volunteer work is credited as experience. Meeting the screen-out element (SOE) is mandatory; those not meeting it will be eliminated.

Physical requirements include standing, balancing on elevated platforms, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting up to 40 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting and carrying. Incumbent must maintain body weight not exceeding 300 pounds.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a warehouse environment, often inside but sometimes outside, with exposure to hot, cold, damp, dusty, or greasy conditions. Risks include electrical shock, cuts, bruises, falls, and falling items. Safety equipment is required.
