GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Directs day-to-day operational activities within the Materials Management Area to meet the hospital's supply needs. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by proactively responding to inquiries from customers, staff, and vendors.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees daily activities of the materials handling department, including prioritization of work, staff scheduling, and training new hires. (30%)
• Coordinates staff and resources in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements. (20%)
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with staff, customers, and support departments to facilitate open communication; understands customer needs, resolves issues, and conducts customer education and improvement initiatives. (20%)
• Conducts staff performance evaluations. (10%)
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and regulatory standards. (10%)
• Handles customer inquiries efficiently. (10%)
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• High school diploma or GED, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience/training, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in materials handling.
• Thorough knowledge of supply chain principles, warehousing, and inventory control.

Preferred:

• 1-3 years of leadership experience.
