Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a reliable Material Handler to support our manufacturing facility. You will move, inspect, and stage raw materials and finished products to ensure production lines run smoothly and inventory remains accurate.

The role requires basic computer skills and forklift operation, with a focus on safety and efficient material flow. You will collaborate with production, quality, and shipping teams to meet targets and maintain a clean, organized work

Qualifications

1–3 years of Material Handler experience in manufacturing or warehouse settings.
Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
Basic computer skills for inventory and receiving processes.

Responsibilities

Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials, verify quantities against PO and identify discrepancies or damage.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials to storage, production lines or docks.
Prepare and stage materials for production runs, ensuring correct components are available on time.
Follow safety protocols and wear PPE as required.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervision immediately.
Collaborate with production, quality, and shipping to ensure efficient material flow.
