Job summary

VAERO in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Material Expeditor to oversee and optimize material flow across the shop, fabrication, and quality departments. You will coordinate work orders, monitor centers, and communicate status updates to keep production on schedule.

Responsibilities include preventing delays, identifying bottlenecks, maintaining records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic computer skills including spreadsheet software.
• Knowledge of production control and production planning.
• Able to stand for sustained periods.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Background working with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts and ability to apply them.
• Ability to build trust, maintain professionalism, and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and streamline the movement of materials and work orders across departments to ensure timely production completion.
• Work with cell leaders to monitor work centers utilizing dispatch reports, tact time analysis, and related material to ensure on-time start dates and completions.
• Coordinate with production planners, supervisors, and other stakeholders to schedule manufacturing activities.
• Provide updates on production status, delays, and potential issues to management and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor production schedules, making adjustments as needed to accommodate shifting priorities and urgent requests.
• Identify bottlenecks or process inefficiencies and recommend solutions to enhance productivity and meet deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records, including work orders, MRP records, production reports, and work cell inventory.
• Continuously assess and improve production workflows to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Conduct routine inspections of production areas to ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
