Aerospace Production Lead — Lean, 2nd Shift

Job summary

VAERO in Jacksonville is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a fabrication, machine shop, and/or assembly team. The role focuses on safe, on-time aerospace component production with a data-driven, Lean mindset.

You will supervise 20+ hourly workers, align resources to the schedule, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with AS9100/ISO standards and HR guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing leadership or production support experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings and interpret specifications; data-driven decision making.
• Experience applying Lean and Six Sigma tools; proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP SAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet or exceed SQDC KPIs.
• Monitor performance metrics using data analysis and observation.
• Supervise 20+ hourly employees in sheet metal fabrication, machining, and assembly.
• Align labor, equipment, and materials to production schedules; plan staffing.
• Coordinate maintenance with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement using 5S, root cause analysis, and problem solving.
• Collaborate with Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coach and develop team members; foster accountability and inclusion.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO standards and HR policies.
• Perform other duties as needed and adapt to dynamic production needs.
