Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. seeks a Materials Supervisor to manage internal material flow from receipt to line-side delivery, including packing, de-trashing, and intra-plant movements.

The role focuses on driving improvements in material handling, cycle counts, and reporting accuracy. The ideal candidate will lead a materials team, optimize warehousing operations, and collaborate with Quality, Purchasing and Production to meet KPIs and delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of materials leadership.
• 2 years of experience leading teams, developing people or organizing tasks.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely material flow within the facility and timely delivery in receiving material from other locations and preparation for shipment of parts to other facilities.
• Develop and implement standard processes and strategies that enable production efficiency improvements.
• Lead, supervise, and develop materials staff through education, training, coaching, mentoring and certification in the execution of improvement priorities and KPIs.
• Manage and optimize daily warehousing operations including staging, cycle count, and storage of materials.
• Oversee inventory management and control, accuracy, and established inventory guidelines and procedures.
• Ensure efficient and accurate materials presentation to support production operations.
• Partner with Quality, Purchasing and Production to develop effective and efficient solutions to customer quality and delivery issues and to achieve objectives and KPIs.
• Lead and improve Material/Inventory Management best practices including Warehouse Management (Cycle Count Accuracy, Transactions, Bar Coding, RFID) and Fill Rate.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels for daily material management balancing resource capacity to workload.
• Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned.
