Job summary

Hendrickson in Chattanooga, TN seeks a Material Control Supervisor to lead the Materials Department, schedule production to meet customer needs, and ensure material availability across the plant. You will interface with Customer Service, Marketing, Materials, and Manufacturing to align priorities and optimize flow.

The role emphasizes developing daily schedules, advancing on-time delivery, managing inventory and capacity, and coaching a team of shipping and material personnel to support business

Qualifications

• BS degree in Business or related field preferred.
• MRPII knowledge required.
• Knowledge of Kan Ban, ISO 9000 and JIT concepts and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily production schedule and coordinate material availability for production.
• Manage plant shipping, receiving, inventory control, material flow and freight traffic.
• Coordinate material team efforts to meet customer, plant and company requirements.
• Conduct meetings with associates for coaching or addressing issues.
• Provide logistical support to plant manufacturing with uninterrupted material availability.
• Manage forecast data to support Marketing forecasts and sales plans.
• Maintain planning bills for efficient component-level part planning.
• Communicate with sales on meeting customer requirements.
• Achieve and maintain on-time delivery aligned with plant goals; report monthly to Materials Manager.
• Compile DOA and distribute for proper approval of levels of authority.
• Coordinate with Division CSR to improve order dates and reschedule as needed.
• Provide Sales Order status as liaison for production rescheduling.
• Manage plant capacity and reporting.
• Plan and coordinate requirements to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Provide input data for forecast analysis and coordinate with Materials Manager.
• Use RCCP to manage demand vs. capacity and support DRI goals.
