Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems, specifically M3, for inventory control, scheduling, and forecasting; Logility experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine how much to invest in inventory; establish desired inventory levels and monitors for compliance.
• Implement and manage the manufacturing database including BOM, Routings, Forecasts, Item Costs and MRP parameters.
• Monitor order status and report to managers; take actions to keep orders on schedule; meet service levels.
• Develop and build supplier relationships; oversee Supply Chain Management process; collaborate with Global Sourcing on MCTO initiatives.
• Manage purchase orders and invoicing; monitor reports and budget adherence.
• Organize annual physical inventory or oversee cycle counting as directed.
• Coordinate with Central Planning to meet service level and working capital targets.
• Use sales, forecast, and order data to optimize turns and working capital.
• Drive continuous improvement across all functions.

Description

The Materials Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, organizing and controlling of the materials department including sourcing, all production, and inventory control functions of the plant ensuring flow of orders through the plant in a timely fashion to meet scheduled shipping dates.

How You Will Help

• Determine how much to invest in inventory, establish desired inventory level(s) and monitors to assure compliance.


• Implement and manage the manufacturing database including Bill of Materials, Routings, Forecasts, Item Costs and MRP parameters.


• Monitor the status of these orders and reports to other managers as requested. Take necessary actions to ensure orders remain on schedule. Meets service level requirements.


• Develop and build supplier relationships and oversees/benchmarks the Supply Chain Management process. Team with the Global Sourcing group on MCTO initiatives.


• Manage issuance of purchase orders and invoicing, monitoring and preparing reports or budget adherence.


• Organize and manage the annual physical inventory or alternatively, oversee the ongoing cycle counting process, as directed.


• Coordinate with the Central Planning team to determine actions needed to attain service level targets and working capital targets.


• Utilize the sales, forecast, and order input data to determine actions needed to attain the overall turns and working capital targets.


• Incorporate all of the above essential functions though a focus towards continuous improvement.
