Job summary

ATI Specialty Materials is offering a 10-week Product Engineering Internship in Monroe, NC for Summer 2027. Rising juniors and seniors in Materials Science, Metallurgical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering will work on transforming alloy designs into manufacturable, high‑performance products.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience in materials processing, process metallurgy and parameter optimization in real production environments, with potential for future opportunities at ATI.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Interest in product development, metallurgy or high‑performance alloys.
• Familiarity with Excel, data analysis tools or metallurgical labs.

Responsibilities

• Assist on projects to optimize alloy production parameters and process capability.
• Support standardization of reheating points for nickel shapes and rectangles.
• Apply materials science concepts to hands-on manufacturing tasks.
• Gain hands-on experience in materials processing and process metallurgy.
