Job summary

RTX is seeking a Materials Engineer to support a major Packaging and Handling assessment for Northeast facilities. You will evaluate materials, review documentation, and help develop packaging and handling requirements for incoming parts.

Initially, you will focus on analysis and documentation, then transition to steady-state duties, including material testing, COA review, and ensuring compliance with specifications in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field required.
• Experience with wet laboratory procedures and safe chemical handling.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate drawings and specifications of incoming parts to determine packaging and handling requirements based on material characteristics.
• Engage with subject matter experts to understand material usage, environmental sensitivities, and manufacturing considerations.
• Review material documentation, specifications, and technical data sheets; develop recommendations based on engineering judgment.
• Clearly document findings and support integration of packaging/handling requirements into formal coding and standards.
• Follow established protocols and contribute to the development of new test plans, fixtures, and custom test setups.
