RTX's Material Control Lab Engineer at the Asheville, NC site supports the development and qualification of new processes to meet delivery and quality targets. The role involves metallurgical evaluations, hands‑on technical work, and collaboration with production and engineering to ensure manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or equivalent in a related field with 2+ years of experience, or an advanced degree.
• Associate's degree with 4+ years of related experience.
• High School Diploma with 6+ years of related experience accepted.
• U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallographic evaluation andDocumentation of processes (aluminides coating, EDM, weld, braze, grinding).
• Provide clear, concise lab reports and maintain records.
• Monitor testing frequency and quality control for processes.
• Develop cut up and evaluation sheets for tested parts.
• Conduct ESA/MCL audits and site qualification surveys.
• Interact with engineering, manufacturing, and materials teams on technical matters.
