Job summary

Press Forge in Paramount, CA seeks a Cost Estimator to develop accurate manufacturing cost estimates and pricing proposals in response to RFQs and new opportunities. You will analyze engineering drawings, material costs, labor requirements, and processes to determine product costs and guide strategic pricing decisions.

Qualifications

• Requires strong analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, specifications, and technical docs.
• Proficient in Excel; experience with cost estimating tools and pricing models.
• Experience analyzing BOMs, routing, material costs, and labor standards for manufacturing.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Finance.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process RFQs and cost estimate requests.
• Analyze drawings, specs, BOMs, routing, and documentation to develop estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, tooling, overhead costs for manufactured products.
• Develop pricing models using historical data, market conditions, and cost data.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Finance to validate assumptions.
• Present cost and pricing recommendations to management and participate in quote reviews.
• Monitor market trends and manufacturing costs to support pricing decisions.
• Maintain estimating databases and cost models.
