Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) seeks a meticulous Controlled Storage Custodian to manage construction and facility materials within the TRIAD group under the Weapons Production Directorate. You will ensure item traceability, proper storage levels, and adherence to QA standards, while supporting a 24/7 shift-ready operation.

Qualifications

• Position requires 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage material in accordance with applicable quality assurance and industry standards.
• Above average computer skills and demonstrated experience with Inventory Control and Material Tracking systems.
• Proficiency in various software suites, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Access.
• Demonstrated experience and excellence in interacting and communicating with customers in a customer service-related setting.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance activities.
• Aptitude toward mechanical and electrical components.
• Familiarity with QA standards and LANL Management Levels.
• Ability to work with high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize multiple inventory systems to maintain and verify inventories and traceability.
• Ensure items are stored and organized for quick retrieval.
• Locate, pull, and stage material for construction activities.
• Verify correct Management Level (ML) for end use and compliance with codes.
• Follow storage procedures and maintain controlled storage requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and special handling for quality items.
• Keep shelves, pallet areas, and workstations orderly and safe.
• Ensure clean receiving area and comply with procedures and rules.
• Work cohesively in a team and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Exhibit strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
