Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East in Bossier City, LA is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Specialist to handle purchasing, receiving, inventory control and material management in a hands-on role.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable coordinating with vendors and inventory systems, and able to verify materials in the warehouse. Hours are Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, with a full benefits package and pay of $18–$20/hr DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, inventory control, receiving, warehouse operations, or manufacturing.
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Ability to stay organized and follow up on outstanding orders.
• Comfortable working in both an office and industrial environment.
• Able to physically locate, count, identify, and verify inventory.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating and maintaining purchase orders and purchasing records.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, order status, delivery dates, and backordered materials.
• Request and organize vendor quotes and purchasing information.
• Receive incoming materials and verify items and quantities against purchase orders and shipping documents.
• Enter received materials into the inventory system and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Maintain accurate part numbers, descriptions, quantities, storage locations, and inventory levels.
• Process inventory transactions and document materials moving in and out of inventory.
• Perform routine inventory counts and assist with resolving inventory discrepancies.
• Research parts, manufacturers, specifications, and product information as needed.
• Organize inventory, parts, and materials within designated warehouse and storage areas.
• Maintain organized purchasing, receiving, and inventory documentation.
• Communicate with production, warehouse, purchasing, and other departments regarding material needs.
• Assist with general purchasing, receiving, warehouse, and inventory functions as needed.
