Job summary

Staffmark Group is seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Assistant in Bossier City, LA. The role supports purchasing, receiving, and inventory control, ensuring accurate records and timely material availability.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, basic Excel and data-entry skills, and familiarity with ERP or purchasing systems. This is a hands-on position in an industrial setting with regular office and warehouse tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry.
• Ability to maintain purchasing, receiving and inventory records.
• Experience with inventory management, ERP, or purchasing systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining purchase orders.
• Follow up with vendors regarding order status, delivery schedules, quotes, and backorders.
• Receive materials, verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips, and enter receipts into the inventory system.
• Identify, document, and help resolve receiving and inventory discrepancies.
• Support the setup, organization, and ongoing maintenance of the MRO inventory system.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, including quantities, locations, part numbers, descriptions, and Min/Max levels.
• Process inventory transactions, add new items, and perform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Research product information and specifications to support purchasing and inventory activities.
• Organize purchasing, receiving, and inventory documentation while maintaining accurate records.
• Support daily purchasing and inventory operations to ensure efficient material availability and business continuity.
