Job Description

A Materials & Process QC Engineer supports pipeline projects for Quality & Compliance. This position will also provide support for the Materials & Process product line.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material and parts testing: Collaborate on in-house testing parameters and strategy for internal vs. external testing; execute and document process and results for 3D printed specimen fabrication, preparation, and associated testing; own, manage, and perform or schedule preventative maintenance for the material testing equipment; facilitate external and internal collaboration for material and part testing.

New materials and equipment testing

• Install and qualify new equipment in the lab; develop SOPs for new equipment in collaboration with manufacturers, with the goal of eventually transferring equipment to the broader DevOps group for production.

Internal communication and standards

• Collaborate and lead development of spreadsheets and templates for data collection, organization, and basic analysis; assist in developing SOPs, best practices, and knowledge sharing; organize material testing information in accessible formats such as SharePoint.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree with 1+ years relevant experience or Master’s Degree in Materials, Biomedical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with polymer fabrication technologies (e.g., 3D Printing, Injection Molding) and characterization techniques (e.g., XRCT, SEM, microscopy, DSC, hardness, mechanical analysis).
• Ability to collaborate across divisions, teams, and vendors.
• Attention to detail in post-processing parts for qualification success.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely without restrictions.

Additional Skills:

• Experience operating and maintaining 3D printers.
• Material science expertise specific to 3D printing materials.
• Basic coding skills or experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Power Apps.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, generally 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates living near West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
