Job summary

American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida is seeking an on-site supervisor/lead in Irving, TX to support training and development of the team, monitor production performance, and ensure quality controls are followed according to work instructions.

The role requires coordinating with Supervisors, attending stand-up meetings, and collaborating with engineering and other departments to optimize workflow and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 1+ years lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, or another applicable environment.
• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist Supervisors in training and developing the team.
• Monitor production performance and ensure quality controls are met.

• Reallocate resources (people/supplies/products) with Supervisor to meet customer goals.

Job Description

This job is responsible for working with the Supervisors and assisting in training and developing the team, monitoring production performance, ensuring production and quality controls are met while adhering to the work instructions for the area of responsibility. This is an onsite role in our Irving, TX DCC with a schedule of Friday through Sunday 6 am to 6:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of shop floor systems (CVision, Oracle, Unit Tracker, Great Plains, Ghost)
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor
• Participate in internal and external customer or vendor meetings
• Work with Supervisor to reallocate resources (people/supplies/products etc.) as needed to meet customer goals
• Work with other departments as needed to ensure proper workflow is achieved
• Point of contact for employees for handling escalation issues
• Work with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues
• Track and maintain daily attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes
• Participate with the 6S Audit team on monthly 6S audits
• Work with supervisor to implement any changes or adjustments on production floor as a result from the audits
• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility
• Perform on-the-job (OJT) refresher training and workstation assessment
• Monitor inventory levels (WIP Aging) for specific area of responsibility
• Monitor KPI and SLA performance levels and escalate any issues/concerns to supervisor when needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Prior leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, or another applicable environment
• Ability to collaborate with other departments with their area of responsibility
• Training environment experience
• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
• Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading

Environmental & Physical Demands

• Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, exposure to changes in temperature, being near moving machinery, and office machinery
• Incumbents required to regularly sit at a desk and operate standard office equipment such as a computer and bar scanner
• Occasionally required to stand and walk, lift, carry and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to talk and hear

Pay Range

$17.34 - $27.75
