Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Material Handler to support our production and logistics operations in Lafayette, IN. The role involves operating or assisting with heavy equipment, receiving, storing, and disbursing parts and materials as needed on the production floor.

Training is provided for all material handler positions, with a strong emphasis on safety. Employees may work in various departments and must follow PPE requirements and safety practices to protect themselves and co-workers.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training.
• Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own and help improve safety, quality, and delivery.
• Maintain and report daily receiving and shipping activities.
• Report defects and needs for repairs.
• Keep lines stocked with the proper materials.
• Perform additional work as assigned by supervisor or coordinator.
• Wear approved PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, respirators, and hearing protection.
• Complete assigned duties in line with safety policies and practices.
