Job summary

Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Temporary Material Handler for weekend shifts in Creedmoor, NC. You will perform ABC cycle counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and help maintain accurate ERP records in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years in stockroom/inventory, and proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office. Weekend hours are Fri–Sun 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, with overtime possible.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years stockroom/inventory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience using ERP inventory management software and data entry tools.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ABC cycle counts as the primary function of the position to verify physical inventory against ERP inventory records.
  • Research inventory discrepancies, determine potential causes, and support the reconciliation of inventory records.
  • Perform accurate inventory adjustments when authorized and necessary to ensure system inventory matches physical inventory.
  • Maintain accurate product identification, lot traceability, quantities, and inventory locations.
  • Enter and maintain inventory information in the ERP system to ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Work with the Warehouse Supervisor and other team members to identify and resolve inventory accuracy issues.
  • Verify and receive materials into the stockroom, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company procedures as needed.
  • Manage material movement within the stockroom and plant, including loading, unloading, and transporting materials using appropriate equipment.
  • Store and organize materials effectively, ensuring proper labeling and traceability.
  • Perform kitting activities and assemble components according to specified instructions as needed.
  • Fill material orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining accurate transaction records.
  • Support general stockroom operations and other material handling activities as workload requires.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

Material Handler - Temporary (Weekends) at Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world’s aviation leaders.


Ontic’s Creedmoor, NC, site is home to a number of specialist companies within the Ontic Group, including Firstmark, Twin Commander, and Metro Merlin. With over 1,300 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and continue to grow at pace.


Our team is looking for a Temporary Material Handler to join them. You will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, North Carolina. These temporary positions have been created to support current inventory needs, with a primary focus on completing ABC cycle counts, addressing inventory discrepancies, and improving overall inventory accuracy. This role will support accurate inventory records and help maintain effective stockroom operations in a fast‑paced aerospace manufacturing environment.


Schedule

Direct Weekend Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.


Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Two years of previous stockroom and inventory experience in a manufacturing environment required.

  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

  • Experience using ERP inventory management software and data entry tools.

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Ability to research inventory discrepancies, identify potential causes, and support reconciliation activities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.

  • Must be able to safely lift 20 to 30 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • This position requires frequent standing, lifting, squatting, and movement throughout the workday.

  • Willingness to support overtime and additional work as business needs require.

Compensation

Pay Range: $20 - $22/hr
