Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety policies, ISO procedures, and warehouse housekeeping; change/service forklift batteries.
  • Drive forklift to pull, stage, stock, load and put away product; assist in material movement and order processing.
  • Use computer and scanner to locate material, verify locations, pick orders for production or shipment, and store returned material.
  • Organize and maintain raw material and finished goods locations per procedures.
  • Manage inventory accuracy physically and electronically; investigate material discrepancies.
  • Ensure complete documentation for material movements and support cycle count processes.
  • Train and progress through the company’s skills matrix; perform other tasks as assigned.

Position Summary

The employee will be responsible for the delivery and staging of raw materials on the various production lines and assist in pulling and unloading products; must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment with the ability to multi-task. The employee will also manage inventory accuracy by monitoring and auditing the daily warehouse functions and cycle counts activities. The employee will be expected to provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practice and safety conscious behavior. This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Material Handler Stilwell, OK 1st Shift.

1st Shift Role Responsibilities
  • Follow and adhere to all safety & company policies practices, follow ISO Procedures, ensure adherence to all warehouse housekeeping policies and practices and change/service batteries for forklifts.
  • Systematically & continuously seek ways of improving performance and driving new initiatives through the team.
  • Drive forklift to pull, stage, stock, load and put away product and knowing how to do so safely without damage to product, pick up or deliver supplies and material to all production areas & assist manufacturing with all aspects of material or equipment movement or picks, packs, and processes sales orders for shipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area, ensure proper handling of tools and equipment and correct operation of machinery to provide a safe working environment.
  • Use a computer and/or scanner to identify and/or verify the location of material, utilize scanning equipment to pick orders for production lines or sales orders as well as accurately store any returned or unused material.
  • Organize and maintain raw material and finish goods locations according to company processes and procedures.
  • Manage overall inventory as well as specific locations (bins) for accuracy both physically and electronically, research any material discrepancies associated with production orders, sales orders or the cycle counting process.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of all necessary documents to communicate material movements.
  • Understands the functions of a warehouse including but not limited to physical inventories, cycle count procedures, scanning methods, operation of associated warehouse equipment (wrapping machines, weigh count scales, forklifts, order pickers, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task, process relabels, operate weigh count scales and/or UPS material, ability to train and progress through the company’s comprehensive skills matrix successfully, other assembly tasks assigned by supervisor or plant manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a team environment, ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read a standard tape measure, ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience, forklift Certification, Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office products, Navision, Novell GroupWise).
