Job summary

Donaldson Company is seeking a hands-on team member for a manufacturing role at our Tennessee facility. You will read blueprints, set up and operate punch presses, and help maintain quality through first article inspections and adherence to safety policies.

The position requires the ability to work overtime and collaboratively support CI initiatives while maintaining clean, organized work areas and accurate production records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year of related experience if no degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and routing sheets.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and PPE.
  • Completes first article inspection reports using various inspection techniques.
  • Sets-up and operates punch presses for metal parts.
  • Performs change-overs and uses hand tools to set-up machines.
  • Produces stamped parts per blueprints/route sheets.
  • Completes labor cards, production reports and CI paperwork.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with department for smooth operations.
  • Maintains 6S and participates in CI initiatives.
  • Performs cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Works scheduled overtime, including weekdays and weekends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Complies with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures, including wearing all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required as well as performing required equipment daily inspections.
  • Complete first article inspection reports using various inspection techniques and quality tools.
  • Sets-up and operates different types of punch presses for various types of metal.
  • Performs change-overs as necessary as well as uses various hand tools to set-up machines and make material adjustments.
  • Produces stamped parts within acceptable quality and quantity standards as stated in the blue prints/route sheets.
  • Completes all applicable paperwork (labor cards, production reports, JIT sheets, CI cards, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with others in the department to help keep the department operating at the desired production rate.
  • Utilizes mechanical ability, work instructions and hand tools to complete daily tasks.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety (6s) in work area as well as involved with continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Perform cycle counting duties to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Must be able to work scheduled overtime hours (including weekdays and weekends).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education consisting of a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of one (1) year of experience or two (2) years of related experience in lieu of education.
  • Perform a variety of tasks safely (including operating forklifts, hoists, die handlers) throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and routing sheets.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to utilize manual dexterity in the performance of job responsibilities.
  • Interact constructively and effectively with all department/plant employees.
  • Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal.
  • Reacts to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to be successfully trained in a variety of OSHA-required topics, such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), forklift certification, etc.
  • Maintain a pattern of regular and predictable attendance.
